Prerow Pier, pier in Prerow
Prerow Pier is a long wooden structure extending approximately 400 meters into the Baltic Sea. The simple construction of wood and concrete provides walking paths and benches from which visitors can observe the coastal landscape and passing boats.
The current structure was built in 1993 and is the longest in the Fischland-Darß-Zingst region. It replaced earlier small boat jetties and an older wooden bridge that could not withstand the harsh sea conditions.
The pier is where locals and visitors gather to enjoy the view of the sea and experience the town's connection to the water. The simple wooden structure reflects Prerow's fishing heritage and has become central to daily seaside life.
The pier is freely accessible at all times with no admission fee required. The walking paths are wide enough for comfortable strolling, and access from the beach is straightforward and easy to find.
The pier offers an unexpected view of the Darss coast, where wide sandy beaches stretch before an open expanse of water. From here, visitors can watch fishing boats and occasionally spot seabirds that use these waters.
