Schützenpark, Urban park in Südfriedhof district, Kiel, Germany
The Schützenpark extends over one kilometer with an average width of 62 meters, divided into sections by three intersecting streets.
The park, established between 1903 and 1909 under Ferdinand Hurtzig's direction, replaced a former shooting and festival ground used since 1412.
The central sections of the park contain recreational meadows and play areas, while the southeastern part features a 6,500-square-meter pond.
Children can use the traffic education area at the northeastern end, operated by the Landesverkehrswacht Schleswig-Holstein association.
A World War II civilian bunker within the park now functions as rehearsal spaces for music groups after its conversion in 1949.
