Store Restrup Herregård is a manor house and hotel in Denmark with brick walls, a sloped roof, and a main building from 1723 designed in baroque style. The estate includes several historic outbuildings, well-kept gardens with old trees, and sits surrounded by fields and countryside.
The estate was originally called Refstrup and traces back to the 1300s from a Viking settlement, with the main house built in 1723 by nobleman Christian Lewetzau in baroque style. It changed hands many times over the centuries and served as an adult education school in the early 1900s before becoming a hotel in 1991.
Store Restrup Herregård takes its name from a Viking founder and reflects centuries of Danish noble life through its design and setting. The gardens and surrounding countryside still show how estate life shaped the region, with the architecture telling stories of the families who lived here.
The estate is located near Aalborg and is easy to reach by car or bus, situated not far from main roads. The surroundings are good for walking or cycling, with small cafes and shops available in the nearby town of Nibe.
