Thorsvang, Danmarks Samlermuseum

Thorsvang, Danmarks Samlermuseum, is a collection museum housed in a former milk powder factory that contains 18 different recreated shops and workshops. Visitors find a grocery store, bank, locksmith, and post office, each filled with original items from different trades.

Henrik Hjortkær founded the museum in 2013 after collecting items throughout his life starting from childhood. Community volunteers, numbering around 246, helped transform the industrial building into exhibition spaces for the collection.

The recreated shops show how people shopped and lived during the 1920s era. Each trade had its own tools, routines, and way of serving customers that visitors can observe today.

The museum operates during daylight hours and offers a restaurant called Palmehaven where visitors can eat and relax. Plan your visit during the warmer months, as the facility closes between October and March.

An old classroom displays wooden school desks from Vordingborg, offering insight into how students studied in an earlier era. Visitors can also get a traditional shave at the vintage barber shop and experience the techniques used then.
