Marienborg Manor, Manor house in Vordingborg Municipality, Denmark.
Marienborg Manor is an estate on the Danish island of Møn spanning 1,394 hectares with farmland, forests, and public park areas. The property includes a working farm and several buildings featuring traditional construction styles from different periods.
The estate was established in 1769 when Samuel Christoph von Plessen built the first structure using bricks salvaged from the town wall of Stege. Multiple reconstructions followed before the main building was demolished in 1984, marking the end of a long architectural journey.
The estate reflects Danish farming traditions through its remaining buildings with traditional thatched roofs and period construction methods. These structures show how rural communities built and maintained their homes across many generations.
Visitors can explore the public park sections by walking through the estate and enjoying the rural island landscape. Access is straightforward from nearby parking areas, and the grounds are suitable for casual walks at any time.
The original bricks came from Stege's medieval town wall, showing how rural estates recycled materials from older city structures. This practice of material reuse was common among property owners of that era.
