Vordingborg Municipality

Vordingborg Municipality is an administrative region in southeastern Zealand encompassing multiple towns, islands, and coastal stretches spread across the area. The region connects to neighboring territories through bridges and includes a mix of urban and rural landscapes.

The present-day municipality was formed in 2007 through the merger of several formerly independent communities, creating a larger administrative entity. This reorganization shaped the region's modern structure as it exists today.

The area contains traditional harbor towns and rural villages where daily life is shaped by coastal proximity and seasonal rhythms. These communities form the region's heart and reflect people's connection to the sea and countryside.

The area is well connected through two major bridge systems linking to nearby islands and neighboring regions. Visitors should note that the different towns and villages are spread across a larger territory requiring some planning.

The area holds the legendary Goose Tower ruin, the final remaining part of a large medieval castle that has become a symbol of local heritage. This remnant draws visitors interested in exploring the medieval past of the coastal region.
