Charles' Church, Tallinn, Lutheran church in Vanalinn, Tallinn, Estonia
The church structure features two tall towers flanking a rose window, built with hewn limestone blocks following a Latin cross layout pattern.
King Charles XI of Sweden commissioned the first wooden church in 1670 for Estonian and Finnish residents, which burned down during the Great Northern War.
The church houses the first fresco painted by an Estonian artist, Johann Köler, depicting Christ's invitation to the weary in the apse.
The building serves the Tallinn Kaarli Congregation of the Estonian Evangelical Lutheran Church with regular services throughout the week.
The ceiling structure combines brick and wood in an engineering solution that allows the hall to remain free of supporting pillars.
