Ismailia Canal, Freshwater canal near Cairo, Egypt.

The Ismailia Canal extends across the Ismailia Governorate, connecting Lake Timsah to multiple regions through a network of waterways and branches.

Construction of the canal began in 1861, requiring 1.1 million cubic meters of excavation work performed by Egyptian laborers to complete the project by 1863.

The canal forms an essential part of daily life for local communities, supporting agriculture and providing water resources across multiple Egyptian governorates.
