Mausoleum of Abdullah ibn Ali Zayn al-Abidin, Islamic mausoleum on Fouad Street, Alexandria, Egypt
The stone mausoleum features a central dome with Quranic verses from Ayat al-Kursi inscribed on its surface, following traditional Mamluk architectural patterns.
Abdullah ibn Ali Zayn al-Abidin arrived in Alexandria with his aunt Zainab bint Husayn in the period following the events at Karbala during the Umayyad rule.
The mausoleum serves as a burial site for both Abdullah ibn Ali and his wife, representing a connection to the lineage of Prophet Muhammad through Husayn ibn Ali.
Following extensive restoration work completed in 2017, the mausoleum opens daily from 1:00 PM until 11:00 PM for visitors interested in Islamic heritage.
The structure contains inscriptions at its entrance detailing the genealogy and significance of Abdullah ibn Ali within the broader context of Islamic history.
