Embalse de Charco Redondo is a reservoir located in Cádiz Province, Spain, completed in 1983 and situated within the Los Alcornocales Natural Park. The water body covers approximately 637 hectares and receives its flow from the Río Palmones, displaying different water levels seasonally as it collects runoff from nearby hills.
The dam was completed in 1983 to manage water resources for the region and prevent flooding from the Palmones River. Since its construction, it has supported agricultural activities and supplied water to nearby communities in Cádiz Province.
The reservoir is accessible by car via the A-381 road and features marked trails suitable for walking, with some paths adapted for wheelchair users. Visitors can stroll, picnic, or explore the natural surroundings comfortably year-round thanks to the mild climate.
The area displays distinctive orange-colored rocks caused by iron veins in the underground formation, creating an unusual visual character along the trails. Visitors also encounter traditional cave houses carved into sandstone and ancient human tombs, revealing that humans have occupied this location for centuries.
