Parque Rural del Nublo

Parque Rural del Nublo is a large protected area in central Gran Canaria containing pine woodlands, volcanic rock formations, and a distinctive columnar rock that rises prominently above the surrounding terrain. The landscape shows clear geological features from ancient volcanic activity, with trails connecting different viewpoints and natural areas.

This landscape was shaped millions of years ago by ancient volcanic activity that created a massive caldera and left behind various rock formations. The park can be entered from several different points, and a free car park near Degollada de La Goleta provides convenient access to the main trails. The paths are marked but the terrain can be uneven and exposed, so wear sturdy shoes and bring plenty of water.
