Parque Rural del Nublo

The park extends across 26,307 hectares, featuring pine forests, volcanic formations, and the prominent Roque Nublo rock formation at 1,813 meters elevation.

The Tejeda volcano formed millions of years ago, creating a massive caldera and leaving behind geological structures including the volcanic plug known as Roque Nublo.

The aboriginal inhabitants of Gran Canaria considered Roque Nublo a sacred site, establishing it as a significant location for ceremonial gatherings and worship.

Visitors can access the park through multiple entry points, with the Degollada de La Goleta car park providing free parking for those hiking to Roque Nublo.

The park contains the endemic plant species Dendriopoterium puliodoi, which grows exclusively within this protected natural environment of Gran Canaria.
