Pinacoteca Rivero

Pinacoteca Rivero is a private gallery in Jerez de la Frontera housing roughly 300 Spanish paintings spanning from the 15th to 19th centuries. It sits within the Bodegas Tradición complex, where operating wine cellars share the same space with the art collection.

Joaquín Rivero began assembling this art collection during the 1980s, leading to the gallery's official opening in May 2006. The private museum model allowed a major Spanish art collection to become permanently available to the public.

The gallery displays paintings by major Spanish masters including works depicting religious themes and royal portraits that defined centuries of artistic tradition. These pieces show how painters approached light, composition, and human expression during their time.

The gallery offers guided tours, workshops, and educational talks covering Spanish art and restoration techniques. Plan to spend enough time exploring both the paintings and the wine cellar spaces within the building.

This is one of the largest private art collections in Andalusia, yet it shares its space with operating wine barrels and storage areas. The unusual setting within a working winery offers visitors a dual experience between viewing art and discovering winemaking operations.
