Museo Arqueológico Municipal de Jerez

The Museo Arqueológico Municipal de Jerez occupies an 18th-century building on Plaza del Mercado and displays regional archaeological discoveries across multiple floors. The exhibition spaces present objects from different periods that document human settlement and development in the area.

The collection was established in 1873 as the Municipal Archaeological Collection and later moved to its current location. After extensive renovations, the museum reopened to the public in 2012.

The collection holds artifacts from various periods, including a rare Corinthian helmet found near the Charterhouse. These objects reveal how different peoples shaped the region's history through their presence and activities.

The museum can be visited from Tuesday to Saturday between 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM. Guided tours are available by contacting 956149560 to arrange a visit.

The collection comprises around 83 different material types, from stone to marble objects, displayed in spaces that recreate historical environments. This diverse selection helps visitors understand the various crafting techniques and materials used in ancient times.
