Villa tardorromana de Camarzana de Tera

The archaeological site contains fifteen rooms arranged around a peristyle courtyard, featuring detailed floor mosaics across multiple chambers.

First discovered in 1861, the Roman villa underwent significant excavations between 2007 and 2008, revealing structures dating back to the 4th century.

The mosaics depict Greek mythological scenes including Orpheus with animals, the abduction of Europa, and Ariadne, alongside hunting scenes and horse illustrations.

The site, accessible from the N-6 highway, includes elevated walkways allowing visitors to observe the preserved mosaic floors from a protective distance.

Eight cartouches within the mosaics display detailed horse representations with their names inscribed in tesserae, a rare epigraphic feature in this region.
