Museo das Mariñas

Museo das Mariñas occupies a former Dominican convent from the 17th century and displays regional artifacts across multiple exhibition halls. The building itself demonstrates religious architecture that was later adapted to serve as a museum.

The museum was established in 1983 to preserve medieval artifacts, including a 14th-century statue of Santiago Peregrino. This sculpture represents the earliest depiction of its kind in Galicia.

The museum displays traditional Galician clothing and craft tools that reveal how people in the Mariñas region once lived and worked. The exhibited objects tell stories of local craftsmanship and daily routines in these communities.
