Trescasas shearing houses

The shearing houses feature traditional stone walls, wooden beams, and specific areas designed for processing wool from the local sheep herds.

Built in the early 1600s, these structures served as central facilities where more than 40,000 sheep were sheared annually during the 18th century.

The buildings represent the agricultural practices of Castilla y León, where wool production shaped the economic development of rural communities.

Visitors can reach the shearing houses by following the main road through Trescasas village, with guided tours available during spring and summer months.

The Religious Order of La Cartuja del Paular managed these facilities, which included three separate houses dedicated to different stages of wool processing.
