Église Saint-Pierre de Vaise, Romanesque Revival church in 9th arrondissement of Lyon, France

Église Saint-Pierre de Vaise is a church building featuring Romanesque Revival style with rounded arches and substantial stone columns throughout its structure. A bell tower rises at the northeastern corner, forming a prominent vertical accent to the building's overall form.

Architect Tony Desjardins designed this structure in the mid-19th century, bringing Romanesque Revival elements to the neighborhood. Its completion in 1846 marked the introduction of this architectural movement to the local landscape.

The church serves as a gathering place for Catholic worship and community celebrations throughout the year. Local residents pass by its facade daily, making it a familiar landmark in the neighborhood.

The church is located on Boulevard Antoine de Saint-Exupéry and is easily reached by TCL public transport or the Vélo'v bike-sharing service. It is best visited by approaching from the surrounding street network, which offers clear pedestrian access.

Inside, a mechanical Paccard carillon with twelve bells produces music throughout the building. This distinctive feature is paired with an 1882 Joseph Merklin organ tucked behind the choir area, creating a rich sonic environment.
