Maison du Perron

The Maison du Perron stands at 11-13 rue des Changes with four levels and features a double-leaf porch entrance characteristic of medieval construction methods.

Dating from the 13th century, this structure underwent timber frame dating which confirmed its construction period around 1270, marking it as one of the oldest houses in Chartres.

This building served multiple functions throughout its existence, including as a justice hall and town hall, known locally as the Parloir aux Bourgeois or House of Three Kings.

The house received monument historique status in 1912 and additional heritage inscriptions in 2006, ensuring its preservation for future generations to study and observe.

Original construction materials, including nails and timber frame blocks, remain preserved within the structure, providing direct evidence of medieval building techniques.
