Résidence Salmson Le Point du Jour, Residential complex in Boulogne-Billancourt, France.
Résidence Salmson Le Point du Jour is a large residential complex in Boulogne-Billancourt with 25 buildings of varying heights and approximately 2260 housing units. The site spans eight hectares and includes commercial spaces alongside the residential units.
The complex was built between 1957 and 1963 on the site of the former Salmson engine factory, transforming industrial land into residential space. Architect Fernand Pouillon led the project until 1961.
The complex was recognized as 20th Century Heritage by the French Ministry of Culture in 2008 for its modern design approach. This designation highlights its role in the development of postwar French residential architecture.
The site is bordered by Rue du Dome, Avenue Pierre Grenier, Boulevard Jean-Jaures, and Rue des Longs-Pres, making navigation straightforward. You can easily walk through the complex and explore the various buildings and landscaped areas on foot.
A scene from the film Le Professionnel starring Jean-Paul Belmondo was shot within this complex. The location thus became part of French cinema history.
