Saint Teresa of Ávila Church is a Catholic place of worship built in the Baroque style within Budapest's Terézváros district. The interior features decorated altars, painted walls and ceilings, and ornamental details that give the space a formal religious character.
The building started in 1809 following a Baroque design by architect Fidél Kasselik. Nearly 70 years later, architect Miklós Ybl made substantial changes to the structure during the 1870s.
The church carries the name of a Spanish saint from the 1500s, creating a spiritual connection to Catholic devotion. Worshippers and visitors experience this dedication in the regular ceremonies held throughout the year.
The church sits at the corner of Pethő Sándor and Király streets in a central location. You can walk through most days, though it is best to plan around service times to see the interior fully.
