CHQ Building, Industrial warehouse in Dublin, Ireland.
The CHQ Building spans over 15,000 square meters, featuring cast iron frames, brick walls, and eight and a half underground storage vaults for merchandise storage.
Scottish engineer John Rennie designed this structure in 1820 as Stack A, creating a storage facility for tobacco, tea, wine, spirits, grain, and flour.
The building hosted a grand banquet in 1856 for 3,628 Irish soldiers who returned from the Crimean War, with the Lord Mayor of Dublin organizing the celebration.
Located at Custom House Quay, the building contains retail spaces, restaurants, the EPIC Emigration Museum, and Dogpatch Labs technology startup hub.
The construction used no wood materials, instead employing thick glass lenses in the floor to illuminate the wine storage vaults below.
