Ksheerarama, Hindu temple in West Godavari district, India

Ksheerarama is a Hindu temple featuring a nine-story Rajagopuram reaching 36 meters (120 feet) high with detailed stone sculptures adorning its structure. The complex contains separate shrines dedicated to Goddess Parvati, Subrahmanya Swamy, and Ganapati.

The temple was built during the Chalukya dynasty in the 10th century and later received contributions from the Reddy kings and the Kakatiyas. These different kingdoms left their mark on the sanctuary's development and expansion across centuries.

The temple is known locally for its daily rituals involving milk offerings made to the white Shiva Lingam. This practice connects visitors to traditional South Indian forms of devotion still performed here.

The temple is located in Palakollu town and is easily accessible by road. Visitors should wear appropriate clothing and respect the temple rules and rituals observed during their visit.

The temple is one of five sacred Pancharama shrines where tradition holds that Lord Rama installed the Lingam together with Sita. This connection to foundational myths makes the site especially meaningful for pilgrims visiting from across the region.
