Somarama

Somarama is a Hindu temple in Bhimavaram featuring a large entrance tower, multiple halls containing sculptures, and a lotus-covered pond called Chandrakundam at the front. The complex includes various shrines and gathering spaces that showcase traditional temple design and layout.

The temple is one of the five Pancharama Kshetras, sacred complexes dedicated to the god Shiva located in the West Godavari district. This ancient grouping connects it to other major pilgrimage sites across the region with shared historical and spiritual roots.

The central Shiva lingam, known as Someswara, changes color with lunar phases, appearing white on full moon nights and dark during new moon periods. This optical phenomenon captures visitors' attention and is interpreted by priests as a sign of cosmic connection.
