Madame Tussauds Delhi, Wax museum in New Delhi, India
Madame Tussauds Delhi is a wax museum in the DLF Mall of India in Noida, displaying more than fifty figures of celebrities, athletes, and leaders from India and around the world. The figures are arranged across different thematic zones, allowing visitors to walk through rooms dedicated to cinema, politics, history, and sports.
The facility opened in December 2017 as the twenty-second location of the museum chain founded by French sculptor Marie Tussaud. The establishment brought the wax figure concept to North India, expanding the brand's global presence in South Asia.
Visitors encounter Bollywood icons like Salman Khan alongside international personalities, presented side by side to reflect the cultural connection between Indian and global entertainment. The exhibition mirrors the preferences and idols of modern India, from sports stars to political leaders.
The exhibition is located inside a shopping mall and opens daily from 11:30 AM to 7:30 PM, with tickets available for advance booking online. Visitors should allow enough time to take photos with the figures and explore all the thematic zones.
Each wax figure requires precise measurements and several months of detailed work by experienced artists to achieve photorealistic resemblance to the subject. The hair is inserted into the sculpture one strand at a time by hand, a process that can take weeks.
