Villa Falconieri, Renaissance villa in Frascati, Italy

Villa Falconieri is a Renaissance villa in Frascati built on the foundations of an ancient Roman villa. The structure displays Baroque elements with lateral wings and a central niche designed by Francesco Borromini.

The property was initially held by Alessandro Rufini before passing to Francesco Cenci in 1563. It subsequently came under the ownership of prominent families including the Gonzagas.

The interior spaces feature frescoes created by renowned artists of the period, including notable works such as a tribute to Venus. These artworks shape the appearance of the rooms and reveal the artistic tastes of those who lived here.

Access to the villa requires advance booking, as the property is not normally open to the public. It is advisable to inquire about visiting options in advance and arrange a time that suits the owners' schedule.

German writer Richard Voss spent decades living in the villa, using it as a creative retreat while producing several literary works. His long residence connected the property to broader European literary circles.
