Museo archeologico regionale eoliano

The museum complex spans six pavilions within a volcanic rock fortress, containing collections from prehistoric tools to classical Greek artifacts.

Founded in 1954 by archaeologists Luigi Bernabò Brea and Madeleine Cavalier, the museum preserves artifacts dating from the Neolithic period through Medieval times.

The museum exhibits the largest collection of miniature Greek theatrical masks in the world, illustrating the ancient performance traditions of Mediterranean civilizations.

Located at Via Castello 2, the museum opens daily from 9:00 AM to 7:30 PM on weekdays and 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM on weekends.

The museum's Vulcanological Section displays geological specimens that document the formation and evolution of the Aeolian archipelago through volcanic activity.
