Ponte Romano di Solestà, Roman bridge in Ascoli Piceno, Italy.

Ponte Romano di Solestà is a Roman stone arch bridge crossing the Tronto River in Ascoli Piceno. The structure spans approximately 62 meters with a single large central arch and demonstrates the solid construction of Roman engineering.

The bridge was built during Emperor Augustus's reign to better connect the Roman provinces of Ascoli and Fermo. It has survived centuries and stands as one of the oldest examples of Roman architecture in this region.

The bridge remains in daily use by locals and visitors, naturally connecting the city center to the district across the river. The careful stonework is visible as you cross and shows the craftsmanship that went into its construction.

The bridge is freely accessible and can be crossed on foot or by vehicle, connecting the center to the far side of the river. The path is well-traveled and offers straightforward access to the neighborhoods on both sides of the river.

In the 1930s, the bridge received modern concrete reinforcement from inside, creating an inspection passage. This hidden access still shows the original Roman construction beneath the later reinforcement.
