Museo Sartorio, Art and history museum in Trieste, Italy.
The Civico Museo Sartorio occupies a villa that contains multiple exhibition spaces filled with paintings, sculptures, ceramics, and historical artifacts from different periods.
The museum opened in 1949 following the Sartorio family legacy, and archaeologists discovered remains of a first-century Roman house during renovations between 2003 and 2006.
The museum collection includes a fourteenth-century triptych by Paolo Veneziano and significant artworks from Giovanni Battista Tiepolo and Giandomenico Tiepolo from the eighteenth century.
The museum opens Thursday through Sunday from 10:00 to 17:00, offers free admission to all visitors, and provides complete wheelchair accessibility throughout the building.
The excavated Roman house remains beneath Villa Sartorio now form part of the permanent exhibition, connecting ancient and modern history in one location.
