Magnifique Communauté de Cadore

The Magnifique Communauté de Cadore is an administrative body in the eastern Dolomites spanning 22 municipalities across Belluno province. The headquarters, Palazzo della Magnifica Comunità, sits in Pieve di Cadore and houses important local collections and archives.

The administrative body was founded in 1338 and received recognition from the Patriarchate of Aquileia in 1347. From 1420 onward, it operated under the protection of the Venetian Republic, solidifying its role as a local governing authority.
