Gesù Divino Maestro alla Pineta Sacchetti, Modern Catholic church in Balduina district, Rome, Italy.
Gesù Divino Maestro is a modern church built as a circular structure with a porphyry floor that slopes gently toward the elevated central altar. The presbytery sits three marble steps above the main floor and forms the geometric heart of the building.
Cardinal Luigi Traglia inaugurated the church on September 30, 1967, after architect Carlo Bevilacqua completed construction between 1966 and 1967. This new building was part of the church's expansion in the Balduina neighborhood during that era.
The wall mosaic displays three scenes of Jesus as Divine Master, including his discussion with temple scholars and his role as Master of the Beatitudes. These images are central to how people worship and pray in this space today.
The church is located at Via Vittorio Montiglio 18 and is open to visitors on most days of the week. You can explore the interior at your own pace, with regular services taking place throughout the week.
The central altar sits before a white marble throne, complemented by a large sunburst pattern that radiates across the entire circular presbytery. This radiating design creates a visual focal point that naturally draws the eye toward the altar.
