Description
Saint Pius X church is a modern structure of concrete and glass featuring clean lines and wide windows that let in plenty of light. Inside, a large bronze crucifix by artist Publio Morbiducci stands at the main altar, and the chapel also houses an organ installed in the late 1960s.
History
Construction began in 1957 under architect Alberto Ressa and the church was consecrated in 1961. About eight years later, it received the status of a titular church, which established its place in Rome's church structure.
