Sargiano covent, Franciscan convent on Monte Lignano hills, Arezzo, Italy.
The religious complex includes a church with a single nave, surrounded by ten hectares of protected woodland containing diverse flora and fauna species.
The Guasconi family donated land in 1405 for the convent's construction, which later housed a theology school and published the internationally distributed Studi Francescani journal.
The church contained valuable artworks, including a nocturnal painting by Piero della Francesca and two glazed terracotta pieces from Andrea della Robbia's workshop.
The convent stands 373 meters above sea level and visitors can reach it by turning at the Olmo road junction, following a one-kilometer path.
Near the entrance, the Leccio di Gnicche oak tree marks the location where brigand Federigo Bobini killed peasant Cesare Fracassi in 1871.
