Palazzo di Giustizia, Justice palace in Piazza Verga, Catania, Italy.

Palazzo di Giustizia is a courthouse located at Piazza Verga in Catania, featuring a classical facade decorated with prominent columns. The building rises across multiple floors and occupies a central position in the city.

Construction of the judicial building started in 1937 under architect Francesco Fichera and was completed with its official opening in 1953. The project reflects the architectural goals of early 20th-century Sicily.

The entrance hall holds a bronze statue of Justice created by sculptor Mimì Maria Lazzaro, depicting two figures that represent the balance between right and wrong. This sculpture is a daily sight for anyone entering the building.

The courthouse sits centrally in the square and is easy to reach on foot when exploring the city center. Visitors should know that this is an active government building, so certain areas may not be open to the public.

The building blends architectural elements from 18th-century Catania and reinterprets them through a 20th-century lens. This mix of older stylistic features and modern construction makes the building an interesting example of how the city developed architecturally.
