Villa Il Palagio di Maiano

Villa Il Palagio di Maiano stands on a hilltop above the village of Maiano, featuring long terraces supported by fortified walls overlooking Florence.

The original medieval structure sustained damage from a hurricane in 1467, leading owner Bartolomeo degli Alessandri to sell the property due to financial constraints.

The villa served as the birthplace of Saint Maria Maddalena de Pazzi and received Queen Victoria, who created sketches of the property during her 1893 visit.

The property includes multiple event spaces, a private chapel, expansive gardens, and accommodation facilities, located near Florence's city center.

The neo-Gothic modifications by architect Felice Francolini transformed the central courtyard into a Renaissance ballroom while maintaining the building's medieval character.
