Lago di Cancano II, Italian mountain lake

Lago di Cancano II is a reservoir in the Italian Alps situated at high altitude in a mountainous terrain. The water body is fed by mountain streams and surrounded by rocky slopes with sparse vegetation typical of the alpine zone.

The reservoir was created as a dam project to harness water for hydroelectric power generation. Its construction represents the development of water management infrastructure in the Alpine region.

The reservoir lies in a remote mountain location and is best reached during warmer months when snow has melted. Access requires hiking experience and reasonable fitness due to the high altitude and steep terrain surrounding it.
