Kami-Shinjō Station, Railway station in Higashiyodogawa-ku, Japan
Kami-Shinjō Station is a railway station in Higashiyodogawa-ku with two elevated side platforms serving single tracks positioned above Japan National Route 479. Ticket gates are located at the north and south entrances of the station.
The station was originally built at ground level in 1921 before being elevated in 1975. This modification improved traffic flow at railway crossings significantly.
The station serves as a main transportation hub for students attending Osaka University of Economics, linking educational facilities with surrounding neighborhoods. People use it daily to reach campus and residential areas.
The station is served by multiple train types including local, semi-express, express, and limited express services on the Hankyu Kyoto Main Line. Passengers can easily access ticket gates and elevated platforms through both entrances.
Construction work has been underway since 2019 to elevate a section of the Kyoto Line toward Sōzenji Station, with completion expected in 2031. This major infrastructure project will further enhance regional connectivity.
