Kyushu Historical Museum, History museum in Ogōri, Japan.
Kyushu Historical Museum is a two-story structure built with ferroconcrete and steel in Ogōri, housing archaeological finds and artifacts from different periods. The museum documents the region's past and its role as a connection point between Asia and Europe.
The museum was founded in 1973 and first located in Dazaifu before moving to Ogōri in 2010. The relocation allowed for expansion and improved presentation of the region's history.
The museum displays objects from different periods that show how people in this region exchanged ideas and goods with other areas over centuries. Visitors can see how trade and contact shaped the way people lived here.
The museum is located about 10 minutes walk from Mikunigaoka Station and is accessible on most days. Visitors should allow enough time to explore the various exhibitions.
The ground floor has the Ajippa Gallery, a space where children can freely explore exhibits without paying admission. This area makes the museum particularly welcoming to young visitors.
