Tashiro-Ōta Kofun

The Tashiro Ota Kofun stands as a circular burial mound measuring 40 meters in diameter and 6 meters in height on a riverside terrace.

The burial chamber, constructed during the 6th century, contains three connected rooms with stone walls and features a dome-shaped ceiling reaching 3.1 meters.

The inner walls display decorative murals in red, black, and green colors, depicting geometric patterns, human figures, horses, ships, and shield designs.

Located at coordinates 33.394806, 130.515167, the site maintains preservation structures installed between 1975 and 1976 for visitor access.

The stone chamber extends 9 meters in length and incorporates the natural yellow rock surface into its artistic wall decorations.
