Aichi Kinro Kaikan, Welfare facility in Shōwa-ku, Japan
Aichi Kinro Kaikan is a multipurpose facility in Nagoya with conference rooms of varying sizes, a large hall seating around 1,700 people, and smaller spaces for group gatherings. The building also includes a library focused on labor issues and provides consultation services for professional matters.
The building opened in 1970 and served as a workers' cultural center during Japan's post-war reconstruction period. In 2009, its services were transferred to a newer industry and labor facility elsewhere in the city.
The auditorium, named Tsurumai Hall, hosted performances by international musicians including Metallica, Creedence Clearwater Revival, and Tom Petty throughout its operation.
The facility was designed to accommodate various types of events and meetings with flexible space arrangements. Visitors could access information resources and consultation services based on their professional needs.
The main hall, known as Tsurumai Hall, attracted well-known musicians from around the world and hosted numerous concerts over the decades. The facility achieved very high occupancy rates before it ceased operations, showing how much the community valued it.
