Gifu City Museum of History, History museum in Gifu Park, Japan
The Gifu City Museum of History stands at the base of Mount Kinka, featuring exhibits that detail the development of the Gifu region through different periods.
The museum, which opened its doors in November 1985, resulted from a 1972 initiative by the local Social Education Committee to preserve regional heritage.
Visitors can experience traditional activities such as creating patterns for Jomon pottery and trying on clothing from the Warring States period.
The museum welcomes guests from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with entrance fees of 310 yen for adults and 150 yen for children under 18.
The facility houses a large-scale diorama depicting Gifu Castle and Nagara River during the reign of feudal lord Oda Nobunaga in the 16th century.
