Komaki Station, Railway station in Komaki, Aichi Prefecture, Japan.
Komaki Station is a railway station of the Meitetsu line located beneath the Meitetsu Komaki Hotel in Chūō. The station features one island platform and one side platform in the basement and serves around 11,360 daily passengers with automated ticket machines and card-based turnstiles.
The station opened in 1920 and underwent complete relocation underground in 1989 as part of a major restructuring. This move allowed for better integration with surrounding buildings and the hotel complex situated above.
The station functions as a central transportation point for residents accessing Komaki High School, Komaki Daiichi Hospital, and regional facilities.
The basement level is accessible through multiple entrances from the hotel and surrounding area, making it easy to reach all levels. The station is well-equipped for passengers with different needs and provides straightforward ticket processing.
From 1991 to 2006, the station served as the terminal point for the Peachliner automated people mover system. This innovative system represented cutting-edge transportation technology for the region during its operational years.
