Tadami Station, Railway station in Minamiaizu district, Fukushima prefecture, Japan
Tadami Station is a railway station located in Tadami, in Fukushima Prefecture, Japan. It features a single island platform connected to the station building at the 88.4-kilometer point of the Tadami Line, with level pedestrian access.
The station opened on August 20, 1963, as part of Japanese National Railways and transferred to East Japan Railway Company during the 1987 privatization. This transition was part of a broader railway restructuring across the country.
The station serves as an entry point to explore traditional agricultural practices and local customs of the Oku-Aizu region in Fukushima Prefecture.
The station provides train service and connects to bus routes serving communities throughout the Minamiaizu district. Visitors should check schedules in advance, as service frequency may be lower than in larger urban areas.
The line suffered severe damage from heavy rainfall in 2011 and remained closed for over a decade before full reopening in October 2022. This extended recovery period highlights how important this railway is for maintaining local connectivity in this remote area.
