Ōtake stable, Sumo wrestling stable in Koto, Japan
Ōtake stable is a professional sumo wrestling training center located in Kōtō ward, Tokyo, Japan. The facility includes a practice ring, living quarters for athletes, and areas for daily meal preparation and rest.
The predecessor was founded in 1971 under the leadership of Taiho, one of the most successful wrestlers in history. Following his retirement, his former student Tadahiro Ōtake took over in 2004 and renamed the facility.
The facility takes its name from the master who assumed leadership after the 2004 reorganization. Wrestlers live together under one roof and share communal meals according to fixed rules that govern hierarchy and respect between senior and junior athletes.
The facility is near Kiyosumi-shirakawa subway station in Kōtō. Visitors may observe morning practice sessions if they request access in advance and spots are available.
Wakatakakage, an active wrestler in the top Makuuchi division, trains here daily alongside his teammates. The facility is among the few in Tokyo that allow visitors to witness the daily routines of active athletes.
