Chaska Chayamachi, Mixed-use skyscraper in Kita-ku, Japan.

Chaska Chayamachi is a 22-story high-rise that combines retail spaces, serviced apartments, and a wedding venue within a modern concrete and glass structure. The building's different functions are arranged vertically, with shops and services filling the lower levels.

Architect Tadao Ando designed this structure, which was completed in 2010 and represents an important addition to the Kita-ku district's development. The building reflects the architectural approach of its era and the city's growth during that period.

The tower houses one of Japan's largest bookstores, Maruzen & Junkudo, which draws readers and browsers with its broad collection spanning multiple floors.

The building offers easy street-level access with shops and services on the lower floors for quick visits. Upper floors housing residential apartments have restricted access, so plan your visit based on which areas you want to explore.

A dedicated sky lobby on the tenth floor creates a vertical gathering space that transitions between the building's different functional zones. The upper floors house a wedding chapel and hotel with sweeping views across Osaka.
