Nanatsu Falls, Natural waterfall in Tsuruoka, Japan.

The water cascades down 90 meters of rock formations, creating seven separate streams that flow over a large dacite outcrop measuring 100 meters wide.

The waterfall formed part of an ancient pilgrimage path leading to the Three Mountains of Dewa, guiding spiritual travelers through the region.

The Ministry of Environment recognized Nanatsu Falls in 1990 by including it in the official list of Japan's Top 100 Waterfalls.

The falls require a 4-kilometer hike from Dainichibo Temple along the Rokujurigoe-Kaido trail, with an elevation gain of 160 meters.

A thousand-year-old cedar tree called Odan no sugi stands along the trail, marking the reported burial site of Emperor Keiko's son.
