Toyama City Sato Memorial Art Museum, Art museum in Toyama Castle grounds, Japan
The museum exhibits over 1,300 pieces of East Asian antique paintings, calligraphy, and pottery in two connected buildings within Toyama Castle Park.
The museum opened in 1961 through donations from employees of Sato Kogyo company and received its collection from businessman Sato Sukekuro.
The museum contains two traditional Japanese tea houses, Ryutei-an and Jo-an, where visitors can experience authentic tea ceremonies.
The museum opens Monday through Saturday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with adult admission at 210 yen and free entry for high school students.
The Ryutei-an tea house originated from a Kaga clan retainer residence in Kanazawa before its relocation to the museum grounds.
