Shusui Museum of Art

The Shusui Museum of Art displays Japanese sabers, traditional paintings, calligraphy, and pottery pieces from Japan and China in a modern building.

Opening its doors in June 2016, the museum preserves numerous Japanese sabers from the Muromachi period, including works by master smiths Norishige and Go no Yoshihiro.

The museum exhibits works by Japanese painting masters Yokoyama Taikan and Kawai Gyokudo, while presenting artifacts that represent the artistic heritage of Etchu Province.

Located at Sengoku-machi, the museum opens from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with admission fees of 800 yen for adults and free entry for middle school students.

The museum's name 'Shusui', meaning autumn water, references the clarity and perfection of saber blades without surface imperfections.
