Kurashiki Mirai Park, Urban park in Kurashiki, Japan
Kurashiki Mirai Park spans 2.1 hectares along Kurashiki Canal, featuring a 600-meter green promenade and expansive grass fields for recreation activities.
The park opened in November 2011 on the former site of Kurashiki Spinning Mill factory and Kurashiki Tivoli Park, which closed in 2008.
The name 'Mirai', meaning 'future' in Japanese, was selected from over 700 public submissions to represent the bright future of Kurashiki city.
Located adjacent to JR Kurashiki Station, the park functions as an emergency evacuation area with specialized manholes and benches that convert into cooking stations.
The park incorporates water features from Kurashiki Canal and includes outdoor performance spaces, children's play areas, and circular wisteria trellises.
