Kurashiki Tivoli Park, Danish-inspired theme park in Kurashiki, Japan.
Kurashiki Tivoli Park was a theme park in Kurashiki, Japan, that no longer exists. The site covered twelve hectares directly north of the station and contained rides, shops, and dining facilities.
The park opened in mid-July nineteen ninety-seven on the grounds of a former spinning mill. It remained in operation for just over eleven years and closed its gates for good at the start of two thousand and nine.
The design of this Danish-inspired site can still be traced through some structures that referenced the stories of a famous Danish fairy tale author. Parts of the facilities were styled after the royal porcelain manufacturer from that northern European country.
The site sat directly at the north exit of Kurashiki Station and was easy to reach on foot. Today the area is no longer accessible as a park.
A tower structure formed the central point of the site and was surrounded by heart-shaped water basins. The park welcomed around eighteen million visitors during its entire operational period.
