Kunizakari Sake no Bunkakan Museum, Alcoholic drinks museum in Handa, Japan.

The Kunizakari Sake no Bunkakan Museum occupies a former brewery building with traditional black walls and white-framed windows positioned near the Jukka River. Inside, original production spaces show how equipment was arranged and used across multiple floors.

The building operated as a working brewery from around 1750 until 1972, representing a long tradition of sake production in Handa. The city itself maintained this brewing practice for roughly 300 years, making this location a key part of that heritage.

Visitors encounter paper figures demonstrating the steps involved in sake brewing, displayed alongside original equipment from different periods of production. These displays show how workers performed their tasks and what tools made the work possible across generations.

Admission is free and the museum maintains regular opening hours, with parking available for cars and buses near Handa Station. Plan to spend about one to one and a half hours here, and be prepared to move between multiple floors throughout the building.

The museum offers tastings of different sake varieties, including unfiltered types available only at the museum shop. These special selections cannot be purchased elsewhere and serve as a memorable keepsake from the visit.
